Synopsis

Raise Your Voice follows the student journalists at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School navigating their school mass shooting as both survivors and journalists. The documentary explores youth free speech history in America, connecting the Parkland students to a broader story about young voices and their power through social movements.

When you turn 18, nothing magically changes. So if we’re not going to train our kids in elementary, middle, and high school to use their voices. How are they going to go out into the world, have a say, and participate if we haven’t taught them how to do that.
— Melissa Falkowski, Journalism teacher at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and newspaper advisor to Eagle Eye News
